Recent EU regulations require companies to account for the environmental impact of their entire supply chain, not just their direct operations. Most local SMEs have no visibility into their "Tier-2" suppliers (the companies that supply their suppliers). This summer project acts as a micro-consultancy. We will partner with two local hardware or manufacturing SMEs, develop a standardized supplier questionnaire, trace their materials back to the source, and build a risk-assessment matrix. This is highly coveted, real-world operations and compliance experience.
