This project simulates the daily reality of a functional analyst at a major bank. Participants (or you alone) will work in an Agile-style sprint: Day 1: Analysis of IFRS9 requirements and translation into functional business rules. Day 2: Mapping data points to a logical data model (SQL-ready structure). (Done on Day 2) Day 3: Designing an impact analysis matrix (cost/benefit/system impact). (Done on Day 2) Day 4: Drafting a quality test plan (UAT scenarios). (Done on Day 3) Outcome: A professional portfolio piece that provides direct insight into your analytical strength and understanding of complex regulations. Credit Risk Regulatory Compliance Logic Simulation (IFRS 9) Project Description: A self-directed, 3-day intensive sprint focused on translating complex EU financial regulations into a functional technical-analytical framework. Originally scoped as a 5-day project, I accelerated the timeline by using AI as a research partner to rapidly bridge the gap between financial compliance and technical architecture. Key Contributions & Learning Outcomes: Regulatory Research: Analyzed EU IFRS 9 requirements, specifically focusing on the classification of financial instruments (loans). IFRS 9 Frameworks: Gained a deep understanding of the Business Model assessment and the Solely Payments of Principal and Interest (SPPI) test for asset classification. Logic Translation: Leveraged industry-standard documentation (including a PwC analysis) to verify credit risk business rules. Data Architecture: Mapped complex regulatory requirements to a logical SQL data model (Prisma schema), ensuring the structure logically supported compliance tracking and credit risk calculation. Quality Assurance (UAT): Established a foundational UAT framework based on system determinism, regulatory accuracy, and logical integrity. Outcome: Successfully completed the functional mapping and logic-validation phases ahead of schedule.
