Gotham AI Deal-Flow Engine: 2026 NYC VC Analyst Lab

This project operates as a permissionless VC fund. As the lead Analyst, you will leverage free, high-leverage 2026 tools to simulate the workflow of a successful NYC VC, albeit with publicly available information. 1. Thesis Construction: Define a "Vertical AI" investment thesis focused on core NYC industries (Fintech, Proptech, and Adtech). Our investment thesis is to invest in vertical AI startups, in the NYC market, in proptech, fintech, and adtech, where significant manual work is automated through AI agents. We invest in startups which show proof of potential through proof of early adoption, clear use cases, and either founder resilience from prior failures and/or prior relevant industry experience. We invest both pre-seed, seed, series A, and series B. 2. Sourcing: Utilize Google AI, then manual audits of the company websites, founder social media profiles, any other relevant sources, and a CSV Numbers CRM to track startups that fit the investment thesis. 3. Networking: Use the findings to publish a "Gotham Innovation Report: Market Teaser" to attract local VC mentors. Description: Designed and executed a permissionless VC simulation to build a high-signal, AI-powered deal-sourcing pipeline for the NYC ecosystem. Developed a proprietary investment thesis focused on "Vertical AI" across NYC's core sectors (Fintech, Proptech, and Adtech). Key Deliverables & Milestones: • Sourcing Pipeline: Sourced and evaluated dozens of early-stage companies using AI-assisted workflows and manual audits; built a custom Apple Numbers CRM to track and shortlist 12 target Agentic AI startups. • Thesis Construction: Formulated a strict framework targeting pre-seed to Series B startups demonstrating early adoption, clear use cases, and founder resilience. • Innovation Report Teaser: Authored and published a redacted market overview on LinkedIn, utilizing a gated content strategy to protect proprietary data and drive inbound networking with local venture capitalists.
